What Are The Causes Of ED?
There are a variety of different nerve impulses that are directed from the spinal column, the brain, as well as specific areas that are located around the penis that cause a response to occur in fibrous tissues, muscles, in the veins, and in arteries that are in and close to the corpora cavernosa. When any of these responses have been interrupted, the result can sometimes be Erectile Dysfunction or ED.
One of the most common reasons why men end up suffering from ED, is because there are certain diseases that can cause damage to the smooth muscles, nerves, fibrous tissues, or even to the arteries. Some of the most common disease would include chronic alcoholism, vascular disease, kidney disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, neurologic disease, and atherosclerosis. These account for as many as 70% of all cases, and diabetes affects 35 to 50 percent of men, causing ED.
Other causes that can also contribute to ED sufferers would be those who choose to smoke cigarettes, individuals that are overweight, and in those who do not get an adequate amount of exercise. In addition to these, various surgeries and types of medications that an individual takes can cause problems with Erectile Dysfunction.
