Is Erection Immediate Upon Taking Cialis?
Cialis medications generally take 30 minutes to one hour to take effect, and works by allowing more blood flow to the penis. This allows and maintains an erection. The patient needs to take Cialis (pill form) at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. After taking effect, erection can last up to 48 hours. However, the patient has to be sexually aroused or an erection will not happen. Adequate desired effects are more likely when the medication is taken on a daily basis at a regular time each day.
There are different forms of this medication, which allows for different reaction times. For example the Cialis Jelly or Soft Tabs may only take 15 minutes to become active due to the fact they are absorbed through the lining of the mouth. The fastest acting form of this medication only takes 5 to 7 minutes to react. One that may be the closest thing to “immediate” there is, would be the Fast Acting Gelatin Capsule form called Super-Active, because it allows for the quickest absorption of the main active ingredient.
However, because the patient does have to be sexually aroused for the medication to work, immediate activation may not always be the desired reaction.
