What Does Propecia Do?
The drug named Propecia reduces the amount of hormones that are produced causing hair loss, by inhibiting the shrinking of hair follicles. This allows the scalp to start growing hair in the places that have been affected by over produced hormones known as DHT.
Over an amount of time the shrunken hair follicles will reopen and hair will begin growing with regular use of the FDA approved drug. The growing of hair with use of Propecia has been proven in studies using men between the ages of 18 and 41 with mild to moderate hair loss on the top of the head, mid scalp and the middle front of the head.
The amount of time the drug is taken can vary for each man, some men see new hair growth in as little as three months, while for others it can take six months or longer. Studies have shown that it works for at least 86 percent of the men that use the FDA approved drug and with use as long as a year. Many of the men taking Propecia have found they recovered the hair in their bald areas growing again naturally from the use of the drug.
